Telstra Road to Discovery

A thriving online music community

We worked closely with Telstra to build a custom online experience for their emerging artist's campaign, Telstra Road to Discovery.

The site creates a space for musicians to share and promote their music. Visitors are invited to discover and stream new tracks instantly while navigating around the site or save a playlist which they can listen to on their mobile devices. Artists can add upcoming shows to their profile for display on the national gig guide.

To enable the annual competition we developed a secure entry and judging platform, and built analytical tools to allow users to easily see who's trending and what’s new as well as providing backend client insight to allow for future planning.

Cater Care MyPay

Custom online time sheet software

We were approached by Cater Care to help migrate their paper-based timesheet process to a streamlined online application, designed from the ground up for their specific needs. The new web-based system leverages the latest technologies and integrates closely with all areas of the business, which operates facilities around Australia. Featuring tools to assist with rostering, employee time tracking, time sheet approval and award interpretation, the system has become an integral piece of the Cater Care payroll process.

7News Listening Post

Interactive marketing boxed up and ready to go

After success with the full Raw Ideas mediaXperience activation, we boxed it up and hit the road to engage the Channel Seven audience in suburbs around Sydney. Featuring an in-built teleprompter, two hand-held microphones and driven by touchscreen, the booth is fully portable and comes packed with recording and automatic compositing software. Users are invited to interact with the booth, selecting to read from a script or record an opinion piece that could potentially be used for broadcast. Users who engage with the booth are given a custom recording of their experience to share with their friends.

Telstra SWEEP

Online asset catalogue and logistics platform

Bringing a catalogue of Telstra's physical marketing assets to the user's fingertips, SWEEP offers a quick way for the Telstra marketing team to find and manage offline assets. With this admin system, the team can easily add new assets or retire old ones, build up shipment packing slips and automatically notify users when assets are due to be returned. We sat down with Telstra to really understand the core of the issues they were facing, and together worked towards a solution to solve them as well as allow for future requirements.

Rise for Alex

National telethon and on-going fundraising effort

We were approached by the RiseForAlex Foundation in 2014 to develop a site that would raise awareness of NRL player Alex McKinnon's injuries and track his progress on the road to recovery, as well as handle the challenge of processing donations made throughout the year and specifically during the RiseForAlex Telethon featured on The Footy Show in July 2014.

Built to handle incredible traffic loads, the RiseForAlex donation platform enabled not only direct donations from the public but also supported the Telstra Telethon call centre in taking payments and tracking operator progress throughout the event. With up-to-the-second reporting, automated Deductible Gift Recipient receipt generation and a full content management system, the RiseForAlex site is well equipped to continue its fundraising endeavours for Alex and other injured NRL players.

7Live Experience

An interactive brand experience

Each year 7LIVE at the Sydney Royal Easter Show and the Royal Melbourne Show gets bigger and better. Utilising our mediaEngine and mediaXperience products, our team builds and runs the technology and production behind the scenes, bringing to life an interactive experience to drive engagement of the public with the Seven West Media brand. 

From being filmed reading the news live on set, to taking photos with their favourite Seven personalities, to delivering the weather with the aid of a green screen, the public is immersed in the entertainment-filled world of Seven West Media. With over a thousand users engaged each day, and tens of gigabytes of user-generated videos and photos uploaded for viewing and sharing throughout the event, this is a brand event with impact. 


A global charity fundraising event

Steptember is an annual month-long fundraising and awareness event organised by the Cerebral Palsy Alliance of Australia. Growing from a simple drive to get individuals and companies to step up their game and log 10,000 steps per day for one month in support of those living with Cerebral Palsy to becoming an international, multi-organisation effort raising millions of dollars each year, Raw Ideas has been alongside the program every step of the way.

Implementing the original concept in 2011, which included registration, team creation, donation processing and tracking of user steps, we regrouped and iterated on the platform each year to ensure steady traction, global spread and return engagement.

Telstra Billboard of Love

Love up in lights

An annual Telstra promotion that gives users the chance to shout their love from the rooftop: you and your love's name on a 26m tall screen outside the Bourke Street Telstra Shop in the centre of Melbourne. The Billboard of Love was developed and continues to be supported by the team here at Raw Ideas, handling the processing, moderation and MMS messaging around the event. Users are invited to text in two names separated by a space, which is then pushed through automatic and manual moderation. On approval your message of love is displayed live, as well as sent in a MMS keepsake to your phone for previewing and social sharing.

ADMA Creative Fuel

Complete content control without the development time

Developed with volume and speed in mind, the Association for Data-driven Marketing and Advertising Creative Fuel project required a sleek and simple content management system that allowed for the rapid creation and rendition of informative brochure sites for ADMA. Built to output fully responsive web templates - designed by the ADMA team - across mobile, tablet and desktop, we developed a CMS that enabled ADMA to takes the reins and exert full control over their content without the need of constant development time.

Inside Seven West Media

Dynamic sales portal bringing the brand to life

A polished online presence that reflects the reputation of Australia's leading multi-platform media organisation, Seven West Media. We worked closely with Seven to deliver a market-leading sales website with "wow" factor, a presence that brings out the quality and innovation synonymous with the Seven West Media brand name: from scroll-based animations to dynamic online sales tools and integrated newsletters, our aim - and achievement - was to leave their customers with a lasting impression.

Building Love

A Ronald McDonald House campaign & telethon

Giving Ronald McDonald House Westmead a launch platform and donation processing service for the Building Love campaign, Raw Ideas developed a lean, easy to manage custom website backed by a content management system that will continue to grow alongside the fundraising efforts.

Built to withstand heavy traffic loads, the Building Love site handles both day-to-day public donations as well as powering the Channel Seven Building Love 7-hour telethon held on 16 May, 2015. Supporting banks of telethon operators, the site successfully processed payments in excess of $1 million. Backed by the Raw Ideas Billing System, each payment or pledge was tracked, and issued a receipt on confirmation of funds received. Donors during the telethon were also published to a televised ticker, via a moderated feed from our platform.

Media Beach

Marketing development for the launch of a new product

An innovative new platform, Media Beach came to us with a system already in place but the need for a marketing site and launch materials to be developed. Working quickly to grasp the brand identity and build a story around it, our team designed, developed and wrote a simple yet powerful website for Media Beach. With a content management system in place, the site is fully within the control of the client without requiring any further development work from our side, meaning the Media Beach marketing site can grow and change alongside the product. We were later engaged again to take the Media Beach brand further: writing, designing and producing a product commercial introducing Media Beach to the world, as well as a portfolio of printed materials for conference and marketing opportunities. 

Telstra Brand Toolkit

Improving distribution of digital assets and education of brand guidelines

In 2013, Telstra embarked on an initiative to organise their digital asset and logo distribution, while improving the education around brand guidelines. As their partners, we set out to build a custom content management solution that would not only ease the curation and management of brand assets, but ensure that they are easily accessible and clearly presented alongside relevant guideline information. Users within the system have access to the full digital asset library, and can browse collections, filter by spectrum colour or creative work with the ability to select which file types they need for an asset (PDF, PNG, JPEG, PSD, etc) and have them zipped up as a package for download.
