The Telstra HeroMessage® project involved creating an application which allowed for moderation of messages sent by customers to their Hero via SMS or by logging on to the Telstra HeroMessage® website. Approved messages were to be displayed on the website and alternate technologies including building projections, variable message signs, LED tickers and tickers on large screen video walls.
Solution
The solution, originally designed for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games, involved the development of architecture which could be easily modified for other Telstra campaigns.
The complete solution supported:
- The ability for the public to enter a 160 character message via a website or text message
- Hierarchy which allows a user to send a message to all Heroes (an Event), a Group of Heroes (Team) or an individual Hero (Member)
- A website for Heroes to log into to view their Events messages.
- A site that dynamically updates via the customers’ interaction with the Hero selection.
- Messages automatically moderated for inappropriate content prior to human moderation.
- Tagging featured messages for display on alternate technologies or for TV broadcast.
- Periodic exports of tagged or all content
